Frequently Asked Questions: The Answers Is there a fee to attend an exhibit? All public events, art openings, and regular hours--exhibitions and admission to cre8ery is free unless otherwise posted. Do I need to have a membership to be a part of cre8ery exhibitions or to participate in classes, workshops or drop in studio times? There is no membership. Anyone can take part in cre8ery exhibitions or participate in classes or sketch nights. On occasion we have calls for submissions and everyone is welcome to apply. What kind of classes do you offer? We offer a wide range of classes and our class maximum is generally between 5-10 students allowing time for instructors to spend quality time with each student. Am I allowed to enter studios when visiting cre8ery? Yes! Any open door is an invitation to come into a space, if you feel uncomfortable just 'walking in' please knock gently on a door and ask if its okay to come in. Artist are pleased to show you their work and artists are able to sell their work directly out of their studio space. Don't be shy! We like visitors! I am interested in buying art from the gallery space(s), who do I talk to? Please speak to Jordan or Shawn, cre8ery management. Managers pay the artists at the close of the exhibition. and we will reply with the details. I don't see exactly the kind of art I am looking for on your website, can you recommend some art and artists I can look into? Our exhibitions change often, sometimes every week or second week. The art changes drastically from one week to the next but if you are looking for something really specific then we recommend you speak to Jordan or Shawn as they will be able to consult you on some artwork that you may be interested in purchasing. We view a lot of art each week and we know a lot of artists in Winnipeg. Give us a try! Can I pay with credit or debit card? You can if you have an email address. We do not have a machine to process payments just an online account. This method of payment is completely secure and reliable. We will send you an invoice through email and you'll be able to follow the instructions there. Not all exhibitions will have the use of Interact/credit card, some will accept cash or cheque only. It takes 2 weeks for a cheque to be fully processed by our gallery. artwork will be available for pick up 14 days following the payment. Artworks from the Auxiliary gallery can be removed as they are purchased provided cash is paid. From the main gallery--the cheques need to be processed and the exhibition must be complete before artworks leave the gallery. I am an artist, how do I apply to the gallery? or call 510.1623 I'd like to apply to the Auxiliary Gallery how do I apply and how often can I apply? Please send us jpeg's of your art, titles, date, medium, value and dimensions. Art must be ready to hang and all paper works must be framed. We will accept anywhere from 1-6 pieces by any artist depending on the amount of space we have and how many have applied. Once you have been accepted into the gallery and your art is on our walls you may apply again. Are you government funded? No, we do not receive funding as a gallery, we have a 'donation' jar if you are interested in supporting our programs and our initiative. As a gallery we do not receive grants and we rely on donations and the sale of artworks. Every penny does count so if you have some change to spare please donate so that we can keep showcasing and promoting all artists of all levels.
